Remembering Leslie Hewitt

March 10, 1926 – February 10, 2021

Les Hewitt

We heard that Les Hewitt passed away last February and recently received an obituary card from his family. Many of you will remember our department’s “Mr. Fix-it”. For over 30 years, Les was a very valued member of our fire department. Les was able to fix any of the mechanical problems that arose with our older vehicles. If a part was not available, he would make one. At the age of 90, Les finally decided it was time to retire and moved back to Saskatchewan to be with his family. He is sadly missed by all of his friends in the department.

Leslie was predeceased by his wife Holly Hewitt; his four siblings Madeline (Marvin) Campbell, Wilbert, Victor (Norma), Jean (George) Noble; Danny Walsh; and son-in-law Pete Garvey.

He is lovingly remembered by his special friend Marilyn Walsh; his sister-in-law Agnes (Wilbert) Hewitt; children Sarah Galvin, Trish Hewitt, Gloria Garvey, Glenda (Jim) Spenrath, Ron Hewitt, Barb (Larry) Raymer, Chuck (Yinny) Conners, Alan Walsh; and grand/great-grandchildren.
