The department is currently in the process of establishing a Reserve Fire Firefighter Division. This branch of the department will be open to men and women who are part-time residents and who wish to participate in in firefighter activities and call-outs while they are here. Applicants will be issued basic firefighting personal protective equipment and will receive instruction in its care and use. Reserve members will be expected to attend weekly practices and training sessions while in residence at Watch Lake or Green Lake and, as soon as the courses are available, they will complete the following training modules:
Firefighter Safety and Survival, Personal Protective Equipment and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus, and Water Supplies.
Reserve members will not be expected to participate in front-line action at emergency scenes, but will perform back-up activities as directed by the Fire Chief and Officers.
